Lighthouse International School Phuket hosts an annual Sports Day event that is always fun. It’s a day of exciting events where kids can show off their athletic skills and compete against their classmates.
Every morning begins with a parade around the school grounds, with students dressed in their respective house colors. This is a beautiful method for preparing one’s mind and body for the day. Following the parade, students are greeted by their team captains and coaches at their homes.
Traditional races like the egg-and-spoon, three-legged, and sack races are just a few of the many entertaining activities the teams engage in. We also have games like relay races, obstacle courses, and tug-of-war to encourage cooperation.
Inter-house sports competitions at our wonderful international school Phuket, featuring games like football, basketball, and volleyball, are a high point of Sports Day. The atmosphere at these games is electric as students cheer on their housemates in a competitive setting.
On the other hand, there is more to Sports Day than just the games. There are also many options for those who would instead take it easy on such a day of celebration. In addition to the usual fare of food and drink, there will also be a photo booth and a place to get your face painted.
The victorious groups and athletes are honored with a presentation of awards. Every student who shows up to compete on Sports Day is a winner in his or her own right because they have shown that they can work together, be good sports, and take on new challenges.
